EnCycle Location

The EnCycle project will be a UK wide project. The first of the large scale plants will be located in the North East of England with further plants to be located in the North West, Wales, South West and South East. A number of plants are under development for each of these locations but the potential for the project means that in the future they could be as frequent as every major town or city. This flexibility comes about by the complete process having the ability to process all forms of waste and converting it to electricity. Food, packaging, organic and household waste could all be processed on these large sites with the electricity generated being fed back into the nearest town. The first of the proposed sites will generate enough renewable energy to power 39,000 homes.

There is no reason why the project could reach the scale where half of every major cities power came from EnCycle project plants. Although this is some time away, it is certainly an area to watch with great interest.

Because the sites are located inside buildings with very little external evidence of their existence they do not have a detrimental effect on the view of the surrounding countryside. They could easily be hidden behind trees and because no odours are given off during any stage of the process it would be impossible to tell the site was there unless being physically told.
