EnCycle Project Aims

The projects are developed to address the increasingly important issue of power generation within the UK. Alternative energy has been a growing topic of discussion over the past decade and with oil reserves running lower by the day the UK, Europe and the rest of the world need to find alternative means of generating the massive amounts of electricity we use.

The EnCycle project aims to aid the generation of this power through a series of processes. The source of fuel used to generate the electricity is food waste, food packaging waste and organic wastes. Food waste has historically been relatively straight forward for manufacturers to deal with. It could be sent to landfill or incinerated along with methods like Anaerobic Digestion and Composting. This waste is a valuable resource which could be used far more effectively. Food waste and food packaging contaminated with food waste contain valuable levels of carbon which can be used as part of a renewable energy scheme such as in the EnCycle projects.

The projects’ initial aim is to make use of these waste streams to produce large quantities of electricity which are then circulated back to the national grid to reduce the requirements from less environmentally friendly sources.  Leading to the achievement of zero to land in our projects.
