The Future Potential of Inetec's Biomass Fuel
Every country produces vast quantities of waste which is a valuable source of fuel. The quantities look set to increase rapidly over the next millennium as we move towards a convenience food culture and as populations rise. The ability to convert this waste into energy means a large leap forward is occurring in the future of energy development. It also means that a reduction in costs will occur for these utilising these channels.
Imagine a world where household waste could be reprocessed to generate electricity for the very town which generated it. A study in 2002 showed that UK households produce 30 millions tonnes of waste a year. This figure is estimated to rise at around 3% per year due to buyer changes in convenience foods and pre-packaged goods. Of this waste 75% still currently goes to landfill sites and although measures are being taken to reduce this a vast percentage of this waste could be used for energy creation.
The biomass fuel generated through the abrassive drying channel can be made commercially available to the energy market where WID compliant combustion systems are in operation and require balancing fuel for processes such as cement kilns or traditional energy generation.
